Elise Miller was a quiet girl who lived on my street. (Stratford Ave.)

One time I was in the art room supply room. Mrs. Rice was our teacher.

Elise came in and started to do the shimi (very out of character for her) and wanted me to do it, too.

I'm sorry to say, at the time, that I brushed her off and wouldn't do it.

I was afraid some one would see us. I'm very sorry I didn't reach out to her more

and that I didn't try to be a friend to her.  I will aways regret that. Genie Merrell
